Background

  • SVI client operating in biofuel sector, developed innovative membrane technology which can initially be applied to ethanol dehydration
  • New technology will have significant impact on reducing the per unit cost of processing fuel grade ethanol
  • Demand for fuel grade ethanol is rapidly expanding across North America driven by government renewable fuel standards
  • Client approached SVI to obtain an opinion on an investment goal of $1.5M in public funding toward a $4.5M project which would prove out the new technology
